What anime or animation is this?

when I was a kid there was and anime or animation that I don't remember the name. It was about a lion cub who was destine to be the king of the jungle. Is not KIMBA THE WHITE LION. I remember it started when he was a cub and then he grew up. He had a deer friend who became the king of the forest. The lion had 4 to 5 stars in his chest and the deer 4 to 5 leaves. there was also and evil tiger and a hyena crony. I thought that it was a JUNGLE BOOK side story or something but i guess not.
