Is it possible to get Airborne in your contract?

At one time, you could enlist with a "unit of choice" or "location of choice" option. I think that is gone now. But we don't put Airborne in a contract just so someone can get Airborne Wings, we put that in the contract with the full intent of assigning that Soldier to an Airborne unit. It is the very rare exception that a new Soldier goes to Airborne School and goes on to a leg unit. Enlist with an Airborne option and trust to the Airborne gods that you will get assigned to Bragg or Italy. Or go with a Ranger Option and know that if you complete all training you will be assigned to the Ranger Regiment. Good luck!
